Do I get frequent flyer miles for the dog?

Well here we go, we said we wouldn't but we are... Need help understanding? Start here I need to write another update for newcomers...

Basically I spend 5 months flying back and forth between Denver and Phoenix to see my husband. My dog is not impressed with the idea...

But doesn't she look regal in an airport?

1966 Cadillac Coupe Deville: A Classic Car

My husband is selling his beloved 1966 Cadillac. We recently moved and are trying to downsize. We do not have near the storage in the new house and something had to go... We must save every possible last inch of space for shoe storage of course.

So this is a true cowboy or COWGIRL classic. I really wanted to pull into a barrel race towing a one horse trailer. BUT I just didn't get a chance this summer. Do you know someone who would rock this car out with a sweet little one horse and maybe a set of horns? Check it out here! I will post more pictures tomorrow.

Ree Drummond: The Pioneer Woman

I went to my very first book signing last night! I didn't come home with a book or an actual signature from the author. BUT I did see her(the author) from a distance and it was an experience!

Why would I drive all the way to Denver, Colorado last night to stand in line for hours? Well of course it would be for the coveted, The Pioneer Woman Cooks by Ree Drummond!

Ree Drummond is a widly popular and successful blogger. Her blog thepioneerwoman.com was listed by Time as one of the top 25 blogs of 2009. She was recently featured in People magazine and Southern Living. I was trying to explain to my husband the significance of PDubb, What Oprah is to TV is what Ree is to the internet. Last night was an obvious indicator of her success and popularity. I also love that she is a country girl who posts pictures of prolapsed cows in between gardening tutorials, photography how to's, home school lessons, beauty tips and of course lots of recipes AND(high pitched and energetic, just for you Kathy) pictures of HORSES, LOTS OF HORSES!

A Few Brief Notes

I love that my friend Kelli is a scrappy Wyoming girl. When we got stuck in a parking garage traffic jam instead of flipping people off or screaming at people she jumped out of the car. Did she get in a fight? Nooo she gave backing lessons to a few scared city folk and she directed traffic until we got back all the way out of that garage from the 4th level!!

The event was held at the Tattered Cover in downtown Denver. This seemed like a cool bookstore with a huge selection. The only suggestion I would make is when you are going to have a book signing, be sure to have books;)

There were two lines going into a basement room where the signing was held. This is one side, I think the room probably had another 250 people in it. Then there was still a line snaking all the way through the upper level of the bookstore.

When I realized there were no books to be had, I begged Kelli to take me to my favorite burrito shop. I get very grouchy when I'm hungry.

One of the many fights over the precious copies!

My Smart friend preordered 5 books and brought them with her. However we had to keep them hidden, it was making some women verry angry she had 5 copies and they couldn't even buy one. Finally at 10pm we had to give up and head back to Wyoming, so Kim didn't get her signatures either!

We did however receive spatulas as a consolation prize. I was in good need of a spatula, this a very heavy duty model. It actual scares me a little as I think of whippings from my very mean momma. These were from ChefsCatalog.com, THANKS!

From what I could hear from where I was at, Ree was soft spoken and very gracious. One woman posted she was just as sweet at 1am as she was at 7:30pm. She took lots of time with each person to sign their book, take pictures and visit with them. I can't imagine how exhausted she must have been last night.
AND this is as close as I got to Mrs. Drummod, but if you squint and look at the very tip of my index finger you will see her. For a better picture check Kim's blog, she had a higher powered camera;)

So Oprah you better look out! Ree Drummond for President! Finally now you know what I need for Christmas, oh and I would prefer a signed copy!

YOU LIE!

A very interesting Photo of the hottest catch phrase on twitter at the moment. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Watching body language is very interesting in this clip.

Stressed....

Well right after my last post I ran over my camera with my car. How? Well I sat my camera on the trunk of my car... then I left it there... then I went to bed... then I got up the next morning... Then I backed my car out of the garage... then my husband found a crushed camera in the driveway.

Sooo I have been procrastinating cause I really want to buy a big expensive camera. The worst part of this is, well the big expensive part. But would a blog with big beautiful pictures be exciting? I know only my mom reads this, but I feel Georgia would really enjoy beautiful pictures. So at the very second you read this I just might be at Sam's Club buying this, or I might be walking out of Sam's sweating empty handed. Oh the stress, If you hear of this camera at goodwill please let me know!
